Gucci has released its first "pendant" for the Yuga Labs metaverse. It will also have a physical version.
The world of big fashion continues to explore what the metaverse and Web3 have to offer, as well as in terms of visibility. Gucci is still trying to push boundaries that many detractors of this space believe don't really exist.
Indeed, the Italian haute couture house has announced another collaboration with Yuga Labs (more specifically, the Bored Ape Yacht Club Laboratory) to produce gadgets that, at least by design, should help erase the line between the digital and the real.
The first product of this collaboration is a pendant called the KodaPendant in a seemingly more complicated scheme, with a signature double-G. Let's take a look at what it is and why it might be of interest, at least to a certain type of collector.
What is this item and why is everyone talking about it?
The KodaPendant is a virtual and physical pendant that ushers in a new phase of collaboration between Gucci and Yuga Labs. It will be released in two forms, digital and physical, will be a one-person fit for Koda and will be a limited edition. Once purchased, there will be guaranteed metadata, a visual update of the individual Koda and the ability to download images.
Later, with a summer 2023 release, such a pendant can also be used in the Yuga Lab Otherside metaspace, or confirm the purchase with your nickname in the respective metaspace's chat room.
You will also be able to purchase a "real" 925 sterling silver pendant with GG engraving from the summer of 2023. The pendant measures 2.2 cm x 2.4 cm and comes on a 50 cm long chain.
Can be purchased for Apeccoins
Another factor that may interest cryptocurrency enthusiasts is that the pendant can be purchased exclusively for $APE, a token that is definitely associated with Yuga Labs and all of its projects, at an equivalent price of just over $1,900.
Who will be able to purchase it? Only those who are among the 10,000 owners of Koda or Vessel. In other words, it will be available to all owners of Otherdeed, the virtual land associated with the Otherside metaspace, which should be associated with other kinds of interest in the future.
How much will physical jewels cost?
There will be no additional cost to request a physical pendant. It can be delivered on request as long as you have a digital version of it.
Then we will see the arrival of this heirloom, as they call it, and others that may already be scheduled to arrive in the coming weeks.
