The head of Meta Trading and Financial Technology announced his decision to cut support for NFT for Instagram and Facebook.
NFTs have become quite common in recent years. Presented as data units stored in a digital ledger called blockchain, which confirms the uniqueness of digital assets and therefore cannot be replaced, these tokens have begun to appear in all areas of life. However, as of 2023, NFTs are no longer what they used to be. As a result, companies investing in this sector have gradually begun to shift their focus in a different direction. One such company, Meta, announced in its latest announcement that it would cut support for NFTs.
Meta will cut NFT support for Facebook and Instagram
The year 2021 is a turning point for Facebook. The company announced its rebranding of Facebook Connect 2021. As a result, all services connected to the platform have moved under the umbrella of the newly formed Meta. In the process, the company made serious investments in projects such as NFT and Metaverse, a key decision given NFT's recent position.
Stephan Kasriel, Meta's head of commerce and fintech, announced on Twitter that they had decided to cut support for NFT for Instagram and Facebook. Kasriel didn't provide any justification for his decision, saying that we want to focus on areas where we can have a big impact, like casters. Of course, this should not mean that NFT's work on Meta will cease completely. However, if the trend is unfavorable, decisions may be made in that direction in the future.

What is NFT?
NFT stands for Non-Fungible Token, which means a unique digital asset belonging only to you. Popular in the financial and art world, NFT is a unique identifier that confirms ownership of a digital product.
NFT technology has become more popular because it makes it harder to alter or tamper with works of art (such as music, games, movies, etc.). While tokens refer to blockchain-based currency and can be exchanged for cryptocurrencies such as Ether or Bitcoin, NFT coins cannot. This is because NFTs have a digital signature that cannot be copied.
